I would not want to live in the central U.S. It is lacking large cities, my career really needs to be near large cities, and the jobs are mostly in farming. The people are nice, but it is too "boring" for me.
I just can't imagine living in Denver, Omaha, Gary, Witchita, St.Louis, and Twin Cities.
I see myself in Chigaco (sp), only b/c the mass african-american population. Other than that, I'll pass on the midwestern cities
I don't want to live in the DEEP SOUTH. I'm scared. Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas (I saw some documentaries on tv about this place), Louisiana, and so forth.
The Carolinas is southerner enough (although I love the south because I'm from it)
New England isn't appeasing to me neither. I heard about the blantant racism. Besides, give me some hot weather
That is just silly. The deep south is nothing like t.v. depicts it. Should I be affraid of all African Americans, because they may be in a gang? I think not.

I prefer living in a rural area in the South, obviously, as I moved here because of that reason.
I have lived in or spent a lot of time in every southeastern State and several of what is called the Southern States and do not understand what some of you consider to be "dangerous". The last time my car was stolen or my property was damaged was over 12 years ago when I lived up north.
I would never live in ANY large city. It just isn't what I like and it just isn't me. I don't mind visiting them, and actually enjoy time spent in them, but to have to deal with the traffic, and masses of people everyday would wear thin on me after a bit. There isn't a State or even an area in any State I can think of that I wouldn't live. They all have their pluses and minuses, generally the people more than make up for any minuses there may be, and I could adapt to the weather anyplace really.
South Carolina (unless Im on the beach)
Tennessee (unless Im in the mountains)
Phoenix (the rest of AZ I love)
Detroit
Albuquerque
Mississippi
Northern Florida (southern Florida I can handle)
Eastern Colorado
Kentucky
Umm....Chicago dips FAR below 40F in the winter and I must say that they get a little bit more then a little bit of snow. Ever been there in the dead of winter?
I know that Chicago gets very cold, just a few days ago it was around -10 degrees with wind chills down to -30. I was just saying that Chicago has a lot going on so even though it gets cold I would still make an exception to live there. Also I live west of Cleveland right now and the average high temperature for the winter is only around 38 degrees and sometimes it gets much colder than that, and where I live we get around 40 inches of snow a year.
