Kansas City is officially the "City of Fountains," since the only city in the world with more fountains is Rome (Kansas City Front Page - The City of Fountains)
Locals also distinguish between the two parts--Kansas City, Kansas, and Kansas City, Missouri--by calling them KCK or KC-Mo. In case you haven't visited, the city straddles the border. While I love Kansas, the Missouri side has more opportunities for entertainment, etc. Some wonderful museums, BBQ, and nightlife at Power & Light District, Westport, etc.
