I think Perimeter center is more like Silver Spring or Rockville and Buckhead/Tysons/Bethesda are a pretty good comparison with all 3 having lots of wealth, luxury shopping and being urban suburban in form with lots of sleek highrises.
Tysons doesn't belong in a conversation about Buckhead and Bethesda. It's the typical Edge City on steroids, nothing more.
A few folks mentioned Tysons on here including myself so I assume some think Tysons and Buckhead are similar.
That means absolutely nothing, and they are totally misinformed if they believe that.
kidphilly has been about the only one to get it right.

You haven't stated any facts to show otherwise so I would think like you, others can have their opinions. I think Tysons Corner and Buckhead are more similar then they are dissimilar. Unless you prove your opinion correct and my opinion wrong, it is what it is.

And, Rosslyn and Buckhead are nothing alike. The form and function of the two are very different. Rosslyn for one is much more dense and it's where people walk and take metro for the most part and it doesn't have huge mansions. Buckhead is not built this way, it's purely car oriented.
I did agree earlier with the Bethesda/Buckhead comparison. I just included Tysons as well.
Maybe the University Town Center (UTC) area of San Diego. It's adjacent to La Jolla, the homes and property sizes aren't as big there as Buckhead but the prices and relative affluence are similar. The area is a big employment center with high rises and a large, upscale mall too.
Nah, Perimeter is definitely more like something in NoVA than Rockville and definitely not Silver Spring; Perimeter has no real downtown like Silver Spring.
Tysons also has metro stations. Just like Buckhead, with a few stations with both having a stop at their main shopping malls; Metro with Tysons just and Marta with a stop at Lenox.
