They where the main ones who couldn't believe I'd choose to live in a place like St. Louis. They are planning to revisit the area next year. I tell people all the time not to judge a city without visiting.

Yep. We typically get two responses when people visit us: First, "it's not what we expected." For whatever reason people tend to think Idaho is all barren wilderness, so a metro of close to 1M people with downtown and historic neighborhoods throws people off. And then followed by "I can see why you moved here."
There are so many wonderful cities and neighborhoods across the US. One of the most difficult parts of our move was picking a place because there were too many great places. That's why I'm such a big fan of people traveling and seeing places for themselves. We ended up in Boise because it's close enough to family to drive and it has a great mix of urban and the outdoors. Attended a Ballet Idaho performance yesterday and we'll go skiing later this week, all within a few minutes of our house.
