I would err I mean I do -if you are counting metro region- and thankfully I'm fortunate enough that I could live anywhere in the country. I love it here.
If I may be so bold. Center City Philly is arguably more vibrant than every downtown on your list except NYC and Chi. 100,000 people live here year round (about 4 sq. miles) Daytime population is close to 500,000 with students, tourists, office workers. The amazing architecture trails NYC and I think thats it. Top 5 cultural city. Some of the best pre-war planned suburbs in the country. Theres 83 colleges and universities in the metro. 1 1/2 hr to some amazing beaches in South Jersey,10 minutes to the beautiful countryside of SE PA.. Its not that bad blingding trust me.No offense but if Mia and Atl make that list then Philadlephia certainly belongs on it. The inner city of Philly has lots of crime but so does NYC,Chicago,Miami,Atl, etc.
I picked Miami, although I do love San Diego and have a good thing going and no really good reason to move. I've lived in CA my whole life and just want to experience something new and different and since I love the beach and sun, Miami seems like an obvious choice.
If it wasn't Miami it would probably be NYC or NOLA.
I don't know man, SD is so much better than Miami pretty much in every way! Miami has the worst summers and this is coming form someone in Houston!
DC is nothing special IMO, Seattle is wet and rainy 10 months out of the year, and Houston and Philly- who WOULD even Want to live there?
Well alot of people love living in Philly and Houston as well as DC and Seattle. All of these cities are pretty nice world class cities, way more so than whatever meth lab infested town you are in!

You missed a lot of places! And many people who consider Chicago also like Houston... unless you're the kind of person who has to have snow. Sounds like you've never even been, correct me if I'm wrong.
I am not bashing the city, but Houston seems so completely different from Chicago, I don't really see how they compare in any meaningful way other than they are both large cities.

They're all VERY nice, but non world class
