For real info, you have to dig a little deeper than wiki. Wiki is generally for people that are too lazy to do their own research.
What crap. Wikipedia is quite sufficient for most casual questions, and it's easy enough to doublecheck and verify its contents (which I agree people should do) thanks to Google and friends.

That doesn't make Wikipedia worthless. It's a very useful resource, and it sometimes provides a very useful level of synthesis and presentation, along with an often-useful set of links at the bottom of the page.

Single sources are almost *always* dangerous, anyway, at least if you're talking about information you need to depend on (and not just fodder for meaningless forum discussions such as this one ).

Wikipedia often organizes data into a much more usable format.. always check though for proper references. Many wikipedia articles are well referenced... those that are not referenced are generally tagged and indicate that they lack sufficient references. As far as articles that cite census data...these are generally always well referenced.

Besides, the following authoritative site has this to say about Wikipedia:

Wikipedia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

and discusses its nature, usefulness, and history in some detail.

The post in question was a wikipedia article that listed MSA's in order of growth rates... The article cites the census data from 2000 and the most recent estimates available on the census website. Links at the bottom of the article will direct to exactly where the information was retrieved from US census. It's really quite simple to double check if you want.. simply look at the population of each georgia MSA from 2000 and then the most recent estimate... calculate the difference.. and then get the respective growth rates for each MSA.
