In a country where hundreds of millions of guns are available to just about any one who wants one, and probably millions of people with mental problems, you have few choices
Get rid of all the guns, (not gonna happen)
Get rid of all the people with mental problems, (also not gonna happen)
Accept the fact that a combination of the two will result in frequent deaths by nutter with gun.
Just the way it is in the USA.

One way to help prevent these atrocities is to provide active police protection for the innocents we have trapped in defense (gun) free zones. If we are going to leave people undefended they we owe them protection no matter the financial cost.

I do not see why depression, confusion, raw anger and the need to kill have any racial factors.
