This is the stupidest discussed issue on the news I think. Who Cares??? As long as they get the job done, and do what needs to be accomplished is all I care about. So I vote for gays in the military. What are they gonna do. Loose sight of the mission and start a str8 up Military porno on the battlefield. LOL
Although I think that gays should be able to join the miltary, I don't think that gay men should be allowed to fight in combat, they would not fight on the frontline as well as straight people, simply because gay men tend to be girlish and are scared more easy.

That's not true. You have a very prejudiced and stereotyped image of gay people in your mind.
Gay military personnel have already proven themselves as worthy comrades in combat. For example, back in '90's the Army named Jose Zuniga "Soldier Of The Year" and he later came out as gay. You can read his book: "Soldier Of The Year."

Your entitled to your opionion but it is far from accurate or realistic. Simply because unless you have met every single gay person in the US to have formed that impression. Then I have no idea why you would assume, every single gay person is girly acting and scares easily. You would have to know every single one there is and spend time with them. To form that type of rather thoughtless comment.
Whether gay or st8 no one knows how someone will act during combat. Every gay person girly and scared more easily. All I can say some of the bravest people I have ever met were gay. Just to live in this predjudiced and sterotyped country as some have made it. A gay person needs some level of bravery just to survive in it.
I don't know whether gays are "scared more easily" than a straight person, but I doubt it. One thing I have no doubts of are that everyone in combat is scared. Everyone.
How would women feel if a guy used the same restrooms as they do, have a naked guy take a shower being surrounded by naked women, sleep in the same barracks, be in the same room when they are changing tampons, etc.? Sure, doesn’t mean that guy will do something inappropriate just because he is attracted to women. Same thing with a gay/lesbian person surrounded by people of the sex he/she is attracted to. So why not make military all co ed? That is, men/women sharing barracks, showers, restrooms, locker rooms, etc.
After all, it's all about celebrating diversity, being a happy family, tolerating others, being open minded, etc. right?
Got no problem with gays in the military, and the only semi-practical reason not to let them join (and let us KNOW they've joined) seems to be that in the military they make you shower naked with other guys. Ironic they'd look at someone differently for being gay. It's an altogether stupid tradition anyway; it's time for the homophobic officers and sergeants to become motivated to PUT UP SOME FRICKIN DIVIDERS ALREADY!

Offering more privacay might help or just make the whole thing coed, same thing. You know, having guys in the women's shower room, restrooms, lockers, etc. and vice versa won't be a problem if it is all coed.
Close minded bigots, bible thumpers, ignorants, people full of hate, etc. won't support the coed idea .
If women are aware that they may be treated with less respect and possibly be viewed as sexual objects by men and if those who are homosexual are aware that they may be discriminated against based on their orientation, then I feel that it is their right to join the military if they so choose to do so. They need to be aware of others beliefs, judgements and opinions before they consider entering into the military. It's unfortunate but they are considered to be minorities within the military and with any minority, they are at a social and, in this case, militarized disadvantage.

A man not being allowed to shower with women doesn't mean he is being discriminated. Women would simply want privacy. I don't see what would be wrong with that. So if we are going to support gays/lesbians in the military in the settings already mentioned, why not just do it all coed?
