I try to live as "green" as possible but I suspect that most people who do this are like me, they've got their dirty little secrets...
Mine is I love, love ,love fresh sheets. If I've got the time, I change they daily or at least every other day. So energy to wash and dry them, plus more energy to iron.
I also ask for the bed to be" fresh" everyday when i travel (and I don't reuse hotel towels either...)
I collect the little shampoo bottles from hotels. I travel a lot so I have a whole box of them. One little bottle lasts me a week, so I won't be buying shampoo for years.....
I wash a lot too...having 3 felines who love to sleep in the bed with me. Also still wash some things in hot water, have a high temp on the water heater. And will not clean/rinse/save those wet cat food cans-the tuna smell/fishy smell is nauseating.

Yeah, I'm guilty of using the hot water alot for clothing, and towels.
I'm really good in some areas - I bring my own bags, reject items with excessive packaging, live somewhere where I can walk to run most my errands, try to use enviro friendly cleaners but...
I've also got a "garage frig/freezer" that is mostly for beverages..
I live in a big house, too! But I love it! 5000 sq ft for three of us.
I keep it warm in the winter and cool in the summer. But I have ceiling fans in each room to help.
I don't recycle, except for my soda bottles at work.
I throw burnt out CFLs in the trash (wrapped in a plastic market bag - Hey! I *do* recycle!)
I like long hot showers.
I have two plasma TVs hooked to two DVRs.
I drive a 6000# SUV. (But my wife drives a Lexus hybrid - does that cancel out?)
I have two computers running 24/7 (with the monitors asleep after 1 hr)
I mulch my lawn clippings - does that count for anything? (But I've a gas riding mower...)
a. I have to drive 20 minutes to work. A little far to bike daily.
b. Flush and forget, with 2-ply TP!
c. I have reusable bags, but I'm forever forgetting to bring them along.
d. Use a grate instead of a fireplace insert...but I only start a fire a few times a year.
e. I'm cutting down trees in the back yard (but I'll be replanting an organic garden in its place! And more trees!)
I collect the little shampoo bottles from hotels. I travel a lot so I have a whole box of them. One little bottle lasts me a week, so I won't be buying shampoo for years.....
We do that too - I don't think there's really anything wrong w/it, as long as the shampoo is used and the bottles recycled. My husband travels for work and we collect them to donate to homeless and women's shelters.
