FWIW:

Looking at 24 long-term and multi-generational studies on insect resistant and herbicide tolerant plants, the study states, 'The studies reviewed present evidence to show that GM plants are nutritionally equivalent to their non-GM counterparts and can be safely used in food and feed.'

I guess I have never seen the problem of GM crops. If they are safe, which they appear to be, they just allow the grower to increase his yields, which drives down his cost. It isn't like a foreign material is being introduced.

The truth is there has been no long range studies on the effects of GMO's.

You must also consider that there is a major effort by Monsanto to control the worlds seed supply. They are doing this using their patent on GMO's. If you are interested there is a ton of info in the web.

If Monsanto is successful in controlling the seed supply they would also have control over the worlds food supply.

The president of Monsanto actually made a Pinky and the Brain type of comment about controlling the food supply of the world.

Monsanto is a very powerful company and the USDA is in bed with them.

Stop thinking everything is a "conspiracy theory" and start thinking about how people are cutthroat to make money.

You can find a study to back any position, and of course they will tell you GMO is safe. It is profitable for them to tell you that.

This type of robber-baron worship is really bizarre.

Of course we believe this study... who funded it, again?

Doesn't matter. My cows - as well as all of the literally thousands of cows on neighboring ranches - can't read. And they're the ones who are refusing to graze even the cornstalks, much less the corn, of GMO plantings. They'll eat the grass and weeds growing up at the base of the cornstalk - but won't touch it otherwse. Of course, they're just stupid animals - what do they know? After all, we're all educated here, and can implicitly and intelligently believe whatever we are told by people who have done studies, for gawrshsakes! Grind that corn - grits, anyone? The more the cows refuse to eat, the more for us! YAY!

We udderly believe the studies done concerning global warming, why is this study any different?

The problem I have with GM crops is the "Round-up" ready modifications and that they will sterilize non-hybrid plants when they cross pollinate with them.

People can choose if their food is labeled so they know if GMO crops/feed have been used or not. Unfortunately even growing your own fruits/veggies is no guarantee once they have been infected by nearby GMO crops. It makes seed saving and attempting to remain un-hybridized very difficult at best.

That Monsanto has been able to wield the power now to make the home gardener the criminal if their backyard garden corn gets cross pollinated by a neighbors GMO corn, and if they save their seeds for next year's garden, is just insanity. It is insanity that Monsanto et al. have made it impossible for farmers to save seeds and replant or made them criminals for storing their seed too long, IMO, YMMV.
