Very long overdue. Winston-Salem has always over shadowed Greensboro as far as the arts are concerned. Doubt that will ever change due to W-S has a very strong support for the arts and the NC School of the Arts located there too. Glad to see it come to the Gate City though.
Steven Tanger of Greensboro based Tanger Outlets donates 7.5 million toward the performing arts center. Instead of being called GPAC, the name of the facility will be called the "Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts."

Good to see Greensboro's entities collectively moving toward a goal - even if it comes at a cost. It's been a long time since I've seen the city, individuals, and businesses join together to support anything remotely considered progressive. Here are some details of what we can expect in Greensboro's future downtown performing arts center. The task force couldn't have picked a better architectural firm for this project.
Also demolition of War Memorial Auditorium at the Greensboro Coliseum is set for September. The auditorium has served as Greensboro's performing arts center since it opened in the 1950s. The facility is out of date
