Downtown Greenville should become a gated community with security guards stationed at each gate. $30 minimum fee per month gets you admission. We'll make it like an amusement park except nobody under 18 gets in unless it's for work or an emergency. No national establishments or afforable eating options would be allowed either. Only local high-end establishments where every meal or item costs at least $40 each are welcome. What about highrises? Don't even think about those. Buildings can be a max of five stories tall, must have setbacks, and be mixed-use with very expensive condos attached. Transportation? Bicycles, skateboards, etc...forget about it. The cops will treat you like a terrorist if you're caught with those especially on the sidewalks. And alcohol or smoking? BAHAHAHA...I have a better chance of winning the Powerball lottery than seeing those being allowed in the new Downtown Greenville.

Downtown Greenville becoming this? But wait a minute g-man, I thought downtown Greenville was already like this thanks to the NIMBY's. Oh yeah....it is.

Hey dude, you got the wrong city, you just described downtown Charleston haha!! But then again, Greenville has been trying to be like Charleston for about 100 years now.

I promise you Greenville wants to be nothing like Charleston. Some things I don't want to be reminded of daily. Master

Not bashing the city or downtown itself. I absolutely love both. I'm bashing the NIMBY's who want downtown to become a place with more rules than a prison about what should and shouldn't be allowed there.
