Received a rendering for this project earlier today. Very impressive. A large scale fountain is scheduled to be located in the area between the health club, fashion retailer, and North Main Street just north of town square seen on the site plan here: http://www.magnoliapark.com/siteplan.html

From citylife at another forum:

Magnolia Park is slated to be open Spring 2010 with construction starting the end of this year or the beginning of next year. This information is directly from the McGarey Group.

Lol, yeah...if we're still in drought when this project is finished we'll need some serious help. Gonna have to start purifying ocean water or something! Or every time clouds come over we'll have to make it rain like they did in China when they were trying to clean up Beijing for the olympics. (which I still haven't quite figured out...but they flew through the clouds and released something that made it rain haha).

According to the National Weather Service, 3-8 inches of rain is expected by the end of the week starting tomorrow.

Construction starts on Rooms to Go and 40,000 square of retail next to Woodruff Road at the end of this year/beginning of next year. Completion of that section is fall 2009. Rest of town center is slated for completion in spring 2010.

I will believe that when I see the demolition and grading of the site commence. There have been numerous construction start dates for this project and all that has materialized is grass poking through the pavement and some cheap vinyl covered signs at the entrance to the property by Flat Rock Grill. Oh, and I can't forget the unoccupied construction trailer.
