You don't need to worry about me. I am doing fine. Sometimes I don't have anything to say that seems appropriate for this thread.....but I am fine and read everything everyday.

elston, you just say what you want when you want, I am grateful to you for your words after Cotey fell gravely ill and died. I was thinking that I led to his demise by feeding him table scraps. But I always fed him table scraps - I loved him - of course I didn't in any way lead to his demise, yet I felt so badly after he got so sick, that I felt guilty.

So I appreciate you so much, elston, and of course, cyn and gentlearts and the rest of y'all that drop in on this thread. This thread should be a natural thread of interest for all people, because life is filled with death and sorrow.

Which brings me around to praising our Creator. He knows how we feel, because He is Love. The best example of love, along with His beloved Son, Jesus Christ.

Thanks, you guys, for helping me work through this. I've cried hard 3 times already this morning, and I'm crying right now. Have a great day, everyone, this beautiful Sunday morning. A new month, indeed!

Crying is cleansing so it's not a bad thing. I am so sorry elko. I'm right there with you. I still cry when I think of Bella and Bubba. It's mourning and will take time but they will forever be a part of our lives! The memories are what we cherish!

elko.........please dont blame yourself for Cotey's death.....it wasnt your fault.....you would never do anything or take any risk that might have hurt him. any more than your wife is to blame for not crumbling up the chili meat...nor was Cotey to blame for being too enthusiastic about getting a treat or your other dog for barking at him. You are all blameless.

There is an epithet on a New England gravestone "It is a fearsome thing to love what death can touch." It is....but we can't stop loving.

elston - that is an interesting saying from the New England gravestone, indeed. I think we can all identify with it, because it applies to all of us. None of us are to blame, I know who is, and he and his minions of death will all be done away with in due time, in God's due time. I say this not to judge anyone, it is God who does the judging because he is the one qualified to judge.

Again, thank you, elston and cyn and gentlearts and all of you out there. Please feel free to come here to get help with grieving. I now have personal proof that it helps and this thread works! I only hope and pray that I can help someone else with their grieving.

My church sent an older man out to do the repairs on my outside wall. I am so anxious but this man has built homes so I am sure he knows what he is doing. Still with all of the recent problems I worry! But God is good and I have asked that he helps this wonderful man with any repairs. I am so blessed!

There are two sister "over 55 communities" near me (modular homes).....one is older than the other and the residents are also older and financially less blessed. The two communities sit side by side. A group of the younger and better off residents formed a committee to go and offer landscaping, cleaning and general fix-up help to their neighbors.

I don't know if that is still going on....hope so.

Your story of the gentleman helping you reminded me of that "good news story" We need good news stories in these dreadful times....with baby jails and mothers crying for their children (Like Rachel in the Bible)
