I have an NAA single action revolver. It's about the size of a set of keys. I like how small and compact it is. I can conceal it in anything.

How effective would it be for self defense?

Slightly better than a sharp stick. In that gun at very close range. Emphasis on very close.

The .22 magnum is not a negligible caliber, even from a 2" barrel, but a sub-micro revolver is really only a good defensive firearm when the alternative is no firearm at all.

Single action .22 magnum revolver for self-defense? Yikes!! It looks like a toy and would not look very intimidating to a bad guy -- especially one high or drunk. Your best bet would be to palm it, and deploy it against the armpit toward the torso or at the temple of the bad guy before he realizes how under-armed you are. As hard as it would be to pull back the hammer (can't use re-c-o-c-k on this forum) after every shot . . . I would try to empty all rounds into the head/neck area. It's your only chance at surviving a violent encounter.

Personally, you'd probably be better off with a decent folding fighting knife. That gun is best suited to intimidation or assassination.

Look on the bright side....you just need a piece of rope a candle stick a wrench a lead pipe and a dagger and you could play clue!

Seriously though....you'd best practice drawing, cycling then firing that thing or any gun for that matter to be effective.

I have other pistols, obviously. Thanks for the laughs, especially, about the game, CLUE. Hahaha

It's "rimfire"......yikes!

Centerfire with primer only please.

Yes, I would take a .25 acp/.32 acp OVER a .22 LR/MAG ANYDAY.

It was designed for "hand guns" and self defense.

"Rimfire" was NOT!

That little pistol can be very effective, just tape it to the end of a baseball bat and------!

LOL, but from your post having other handguns wasn't obvious.

I think the smallest I'd go is the Ruger SR9C for the front pocket, but that's would just buy me time to get to the .45 in case there was a possible hangup getting to the .45.

Otherwise I'll stick with just the .45.
