the 44 is in an ankle holster and is a last ditch weapon if needed. if that revolver is needed, then I wanted a nice large cartridge.

Right. I'll believe that when I see it. I bet you'd limp before you walked 1/4 mile.

Fair enough, but the expanded .44 slug is no larger than the expanded .45 slug, and the recoil/muzzle-blast/flash penalty certainly is. Velocity is a moot point, terminally, below about 1800fps, so what's the logic? Bear country and need the penetration?

I see people with weights around their ankles jogging every day. It's certainly doable.

I think he is specifically talking about the Charter Arms Bulldog guys.

That is a nasty weapon and world famous because....

The 44mag has a higher rate of incapacitation than the 45acp.

Too technical and dependent on the ammo being used.

What IS known fact....

Doesn't matter, the 44mag does not produce energy less than 800 ft lb (from Ballistic101,com). The 45acp can put a big hole in you but a 44mag blast a hole in you. They do more tissue damages.

Google .44 "special". It's a .44 magnum "short" if you will for lack of a better term. Like 10mm and .40 S&W.

That's what MW's Bulldog takes.

Also David's ^.
