This is the best way to increase you level of skill, the quickest.

I have one of those that I inherited from my great uncle. It is a quality shotgun and great for home defense.

You can probably find a good used pump or auto shotty at a pawn shop, gun store, etc.
Hear. Hear. I went to Frontsight in Pahrump, NV, outside of Las Vegas, for my two-day shotgun class. It really gave me the confidence in how to handle a shotgun.

The beauty of a shotgun is that you don't need to pay thousands of $$ for it. Even a $200 Maverick 88 is more than adequate for home defense.

Well there is wingshooting, and then there is defensive shotgun, and while you can use the same gat for both, most people have at least one of each. These are two different classes, two different skills.

It's easier to miss with a shotgun than most inexperienced shooters realize.
