For the island of Hawaii, it is very large but very difficult to get lost on because we don't really have that many roads.
Wait, I think this could be totally misleading. If you get on the belt highway, headed in either direction, in 5 hours or so you could miss your starting point and go right past it, and then who knows where you'd wind up? And then if you thought you were going south, in a few hours you'd be going north, and the sun would be on one side of the car, and then the other, and you could just totally freak out and be as lost as if you were in a whiteout blizzard.
Let's be real. It's totally dangerous to try to drive anywhere on the Big Island. There's no way not to get lost. I don't recommend it at all.

What? We got another big town now besides Hilo? When did that happen? How come I wasn't informed? Geez, we're getting so crowded. No wonder everybody gets lost here.
Well, Kona has over 40,000, HPP about 10,000. Even little Pahoa, with about 900 people has about 10,000 in it's zipcode. Maybe not cities, just a whole lot of people glommed together. The census figures come out next month, will be interesting to see what the tallies are.
OpenD. You make good logic. Sometimes it's fun to drive to other locations in the city looking at the people individuals. And at the same time buy and use services or products. Ieilaniguy. Think Hawaii Big Island is the most cash flow in and out and never bust state? Feel that lower class citizens who work day in day out do help one another on the Big Island. When one gets stranded they jump all over that stranded individual and issue additional jobs such like!!! Hawaii Land of the free... Ha. Bob's job is learn, enjoy, and ideas.
Any recommendations for controlling electric costs on mid size Big Island estate? And maintaining hard wood floors and overlapping expensive rugs? And changing inside furniture around for not being boring with it?
He mentioned zipcode 96815 which is Waikiki on the Island of Oahu - not the island of Hawaii aka "the Big Island" at all. So, if you are going to be in Waikiki and on the island of Oahu, well, then yes you can get very lost there. But it's not that big of an island so you can't get that lost.

Sure, but if he thinks Waikiki is on the Island of Hawai'i, then he's already lost before he starts. Ultimately it doesn't matter how large or small the island is if you are on the wrong island completely. I think he should just park where he is and call a taxi. 422-2222
