Boat to Hawaii? (ferries, vacations, island)

Are there any boats or ferries that go to Hawaii?

hawai'i as in the big island? the ferry from o'ahu to the big island won't start until 2010. on a good note, so far so good. no whales have been injured on their o'ahu to maui route.

There's the Super Ferry and Pride of Hawaii as far as I know. Super Ferry is inter island though.

the super ferry is only travelling from o'ahu to maui and back. they have cancelled several trips within the last few days due to choppy seas.

just read in today's honolulu advertiser that the superferry was forced to cancel trips to maui for the 4th day in a row due to high winds and seas. the article also said that a second ferry is being built to expand service to the big island in 2009. that's the first report that i have heard of that states 2009 and not 2010. to check boyage status for tomorrow and beyond, passengers should call or go to the official website.

i've been watching on the official site for the ferry for several months...it's always said 2009 for the oah'u to hawai'i trip.

the information was from articles in the honolulu advertiser. they have now reported 2009. guess it's better to get the official status from the official site.
