Throat feels like it is closing up

Could it be this ?ach·a·la·sia ? I have this and I have to cut my food into bite sized piece like a toddler and you would not believe the stares I get like I have a mental problem so to speak ...you can look it up on WebMD . I hardly have dinner or food out anywhere because I get so embarrassed when the wait staff and people stare when I have to cut my food up .

I am also having this problem, it started after I got done taken vancomycin, or possibility due to the other antibiotics I took before that, that gave me a really bad allergic reaction. It's been 2 months now and this throat tightning, nausea feeling, and mucus every day, every few seconds clearing my throat is getting on my nervous. I can't eat without feeling sick even though I feel fine, it's just my throat. Idk what to do, I do have anxiety and been taken meds for it for years so Ism if it's also cause by that. Ugh I need relief. I am trap in the house all day afraid to do anything because of this. I need help

When I was a child I was very anxious - a worrier - and I often had the sensation my throat was closing up - that I couldnt get enough air and 'would get panicky as a result.


I grew out of it and in later life I found out it can be an anxiety symptom.

My Grandfather suggested gargling with warm salt water. It almost always helped me. Couldn't hurt. Maybe it'll help a little but like anything, probably should seek out a doctor to see you in person.
