for the last 3 months when I go to fill my pain meds the pharmacy I use only has about half of what I'm supposed to get. Which of course means in 15 days I have to get another script from doc, hope and pray insurance will help pay and hope the pharmacy has enough for the second go round.

My question is this--how can I find out if another pharmacy may keep more on hand without coming off like a druggie who might rob em for having plenty on hand??

Not sure what you are saying - are you saying the pharmacy refills for half of the prescribed amount?

Maybe you could ask your Dr. to call the script into a larger pharmacy, like Target or such.

Transfer the prescription to a different pharmacy. If the one you currently use is always short on your pain meds, one day when you go to fill it, they'll be out.

Isn't there a lot of control going on with the pain meds like opioids? It's all over my radio almost daily. I would sure be working on alternatives to manage pain.

not refills just only has half the amount I need; which means I lose the rest of the prescription.

I use Sams, so not a small pharmacy. I did end up calling them today and lady I spoke with said they have one other monthly patient on same meds, same amount and unfortunately same time each month so they are going to up their order for this medicine.

When this continued to happen to one of my clients, we started to count the pills at the counter to make sure there were the correct number of pills in the bottle.
That corrected "the oversight".

You're saying the pharmacy fills only half of the prescription amount ordered by your doctor? If that is the case you shoud not have to get another script for the rest of the medication, if the pharmacy can only partially fill a prescription, they should indicate the amount they're filling (for example, 10 of 30 pills), and then fill the remainder of the script when those meds come in.

As others have suggested I'd probably find another pharmacy.

I know! We aren't getting a clear answer.

Seriously lady? Just stop. You have NO IDEA why the OP takes pain meds.

I swear...you would tell dying pediatric patients to take grape seed extract.
