I am 43 and still get carded now and again which serves to brighten up my day. I do realize my vision isn't what is used to be, and I should get my eyes checked but never gone around to do it. Hangovers also are much worse, not that I drink that often but it can be a pain for sure. Another thing is when I have gone out with my daughter and she introduces me as her mother people act surprised. Even her bf when she introduced me to him exclaimed "No way, you look much to young to be her mom." LOL.
I am also 43 and I feel like I have aged well. I look about the same as I did in college (albeit with a few wrinkles). I weigh the same as I did in my early 20s, my overall health markers are all very good. I work very hard to maintain this level of health and well being.
I would say most of my close friends who are the same age have been aging well too. I recently attended my 25th High School reunion and most people looked really, really good.
I am not surprised by this. They say 40 is the new 30 and 50 is the new 40 and so on.......
We have a lot more health resources and knowledge available to us than our parents and grandparents did. We don't have as physically stressful a lifestyle. I think that is a major factor into this whole "aging well". OTOH, we have a lot more in the way of artificial enhancement to keep us looking good on the outside, but a lot of us are not as healthy on the inside as in generations past.
I'm outside of the date range - I'm 54. I've aged well and look younger than my age according to everyone else.
I'm 5'10.5" and slightly under 160lbs. I eat healthy and exercise regularly. I feel the age sometimes as the body is 54, but I believe because of my overall focus on health and fitness, it has helped. And I will not discount genes - my parents aged very well too, always looking younger than their age.
I am in good shape, good markers when I get my annual physical, but I'm putting more energy into taking good care of myself. Dropped the refined carbs, eating more whole grain / grass fed / etc. Exercising daily now, and trying to be a grown up about it rather than thinking I'm invincible...
So far, so good! Can't wait to hit 45 next year... hard!
I'm not too far off from 40 but I look half my age and feel that way too. I get carded if I try to buy alcohol in areas that don't know me. I eat reasonably well and attend to my mental and physical health, workout, keep active and am constantly learning what our bodies need to repair and remain healthy. I feel better and look better now than when I was in my 20's.
I'm 44 and managed to look a lot younger - everyone is truly shocked when I tell them my age. This is not due to a healthy lifestyle, as I drink a lot and wasn't eating that healthily. Might be due to my size - have always been slim, although I am not the same weight now as I was in my 20s and early 30s. My dad also looks much younger so I might just have good genes.
If you want to know how old you really look ask a kid. None of us seeing ourselves aging and yes people will always compliment us telling us how young we look. Sad fact of life is, yes we all age.
