I have been hot natured all my life and I had my first hot flashes in 2004 at 49. I took Estroven (otc) it helped for a while then stopped so my dr gave me Bellaspas which I still take and the hot flashes started again so I am taking the extra strength estroven (4 a day). I feel like they are on the verg of coming back. I haven't had a period in almost a year and that has been wonderful. I also have seven fybrid (SP) tumers which caused spotting in between periods. Old age is not for sissys I forgot to mention my sister in law went through menopause at 32!

I had very little problems, must be genetic, no one in my family did either, and of course I have always been a curmedgeon, so no one would notice. I always thought that women's things were a part of my life and went on with it, never complained or paid much attention, would rather have women's problems than have mens problems.A lot of my Latino friends drink Cuban coffee for cramps and hot flashes. From experience on how to get your daughter up, its now her problem, let her get up by herself and take the consequenses of her own actions. I too was an old Mom and an even older foster Mom.

Hi Rapture, My daughter is 44yrs, and going through this for almost 2 years. Her doctor said there was nothing he could do. She has night sweats, hot flashes ect. When I was younger, the gave us hormones. Now, its too dangerous, and the doctors say they are bad.

Its had to tell you what to do except.....good diet, exercise, and a lot of family that is supporting you.
