America is getting fatter and less healthy as we all know. The CDC has
now tracked this trend for all to see.

Hey, I live in the skinniest state in the country!

Funny, when I go to Texas a couple times per year, I do notice many more obese people there. And when I went out to lunch with some Texans, they made fun of me for eating a salad and ordering fruit. They seemed to only eat meat and fried stuff, and all were fat.

Wow, that was scary...I read, somewhere, that our longevity is falling to an age below that of our parents..I think that was it...makes sense, our growing obesity means growing diabetes and heart disease...

It is so annoying. I park my car to walk into Dunkin Donuts every morning for a Latte and I see the same people every morning parked in the illegal fire lane because they refuse to walk "all the way in" I work in a pharmacy and so many people moan and complain that we don't have a drive through pharmacy and they have to actually walk into the pharmacy. I don't understand the big deal about walking from your car it is actually good for you and it isn't hard at all. The less you walk the harder it beomes...the fatter you get the sicker you get. It is good for the pharmacy business though

Is that saying Colorado is the state that has the highest food costs. I loved Colorado, but we did have a hard time finding things that were good to eat that we could afford when we lived there.

I alsoa remember walking a lot when we visited the parks there. Maybe it is the sunny weather.

You see a lot more fat people that you used to, even here in Massachusetts. I feel bad when I see fat kids. There used to be one fat kid per class in school and maybe that was just genetic but now you see kids who look stuffed.

I guess people eat too much junk food. Some of it is lack of exercise too, but I think most of it is due to poor diet.

Wow I live in 1 of the 3 worst states. That is a real eye opener. It's ashame we can't teach and practice better eating and exercise habits. I know in my area there are just too many poor food choices and I really don't think they know better. There is no nutritional information being taught to the younger generation and their parents don't cook healthy at all.

I actually have a hard time shopping at the local grocery stores. It's hard to find whole grain breads, light or low fat dairy products, and the fresh produce is very expensive.

Most ppl assume getting fat/unhealthy is part of aging. Thats the sad part. Your metabolism does slow down as you age but if your eating properly and exercising fat gain will be minimal. Its no coincidence that ppl who exercise regularly look and feel better.

Hmm. I live in Alabama but I can't say I see any more fat people here than I do anywhere else.

I will say that I think some of this comes down to race. Many black people are naturally heavier than white people because of their body shape (especially women). I'm not saying they're fatter, just heavier.
