I'm a 40 year old male and just today I'm seeing blood in my urine. This actually happened probably about 6-9 months ago. I went to my doctor and she suspected it was somehow kidney stone related but was never able to diagnose anything. An ultrasound was done but nothing showed up. I know that in the majority of the cases this proves to be nothing to be concerned about but that it can be indicative of something serious. Does the fact that this has come back mean anything relevant? I called my doctor to have her check on it again but can't get an appointment for a couple of weeks--grrr...
It's possible a small stone was irritating the lining before, moved, and now is happening again. Any pain on urination? Urgent Care, or Doc-In-A-Box places are good if you are worried and want a quick opinion.

Please take this very seriously and see a urologist ASAP! Visible blood in urine is NOT normal. If need be, go to an urgent care and they will (I hope) refer you.

Ok -did they do blood work for kidney function and send off a sample of urine to check for infection?
Did you have any other symptoms-ie pain, fever, problems passing urine, passing urine frequently in small amounts, sudden uncontrollable urge to pu or feeling like you needed to PU but not being able to go?
Did you take aspirin before this happened? I'm asking because a few years ago this happened to my father and they found out he had become allergic to aspirin.
But wether it could be that or not, I'd see a doctor as soon as possible if I were you, because it's in no way normal and could be just about anything, including something really serious!
No, did not take aspirin prior to it. I'm seeing my doctor today. It's alarming, to say the least.
They did take a sample last time and I'm not sure what was done with it but I assume it was tested for signs of something serious. Not really any other major symptoms, occasionally an uncomfortable sensation almost like abdominal cramping.

Great advice. The urologist will also check your prostate.
