Come on. If they were such great socialists they would have been united with the soviets not fought them. They were fervent nationalists. Racists, which is pretty antithetical to socialists.

Why? Both Chinese and Russian were socialist and communist which did not stop them from hating each other... You are jumping into very simplistic conclusions.

Read about the nature of relations between Russia and China; they were on and off, with different interests expressed by different groups, and geopolitical interests pursued by two neighboring countries, which is nothing out of the ordinary. Neither one of these countries however announced communism or socialism as its mortal enemy, as it was a case with Hitler's Germany.
Your analogy is too simplistic ( and predictable) - just bring the Soviet Union into conversation as soon as Hitler's Germany is mentioned, and everything will be all right. That sort of thing.

Why are you backtracking now? You said that similar political movements never fight with each other so I showed you Russia and China, both communist countries. I could alos tell you how Bolshevik killed off Mensheviks. Denouncing the opposing fraction as reactionist and fake was pretty usual amongst the socialists in XIX and XX century. So was killing the opponents. Nazis were not any different, they were a socialist faction that opposed other socialist factions, just like Bolsheviks opposed, hated and eventually killed off Mensheviks.

If its socialist meaning to kill other socialists, communists, union members , gypsies, Jehovah whitmesses, your assumption would hold merit even though it is ludicrous.

Funny you mentioned this. In 70 years of Soviet history the regime killed Mensheviks (socialists), communist (Stalin's purges), union members (repression against miners in Donieck), and Jehova Witnesses.
There is no single group of people that was spared repressions in Soviet Union.

But "repressions" and methodical extermination on the basis of the nationality only is something that clearly sets Nationalists and Soviets apart, innit?

Other than rampant anti-semitism there were not that many differences between Nazi Gemany and Soviet Russia. Both regimes killed and dispalced million of people and entire nationalities.

By a broad definition they were socialist but they were never communist. You really need to brush up on Marx and Engels treatise's so as not to appear... simplistic.
