Apparently, the vent from the tankless hot water heater leading to the outside of the house doesn't protrude far enough from the vinyl siding, and is melting the siding around the vent.
Anyone had any experience with how much it would cost, or alternatively the time and effort it would take to re-install the existing system to make the siding not melt?? As a follow-up, it turns out the seller actually already had the system replaced but never fixed the siding - so the melt look is from some time ago. They offered instead to have an additional piece added to the venting system to make sure it would never melt again and a Bosch certified letter stating the system is currently installed and functioning properly. I guess asking for more money on an already lowball price was very motivating...
