Graduated college at age 21, almost 22. My parents were gracious enough to let me live back at home till I saved up money. Then I moved out for good 12 months later at age 23. This was in 1988.
18 but I took my dad with me, he had just gotten divorced for the 2nd time and I was buying my first rental property. I had to occupy it for a year because I purchased it as a primary residence so I moved him in with me since he was renting where we were living before that. He went back out on his own when I was 24 after I had been married for 3 years but now lives with us again in a 1 bedroom detached in-law suite, he is 59 now.
Kinda reversed there but it worked for me, I was working too much to take care of a home at the time.
I left at 15. I was working full-time, and I stayed in school. I graduated HS at 17, traveled with a carnival show for a few months, then showed up at my mother's house with the papers to go in the Army and told her "Sign this." I was on a plane headed for BT a day or two later.
I was 18. I had already been working a full time office job for a year by then and had just landed a job with the government so I was soooo ready to get away from mom and dad.
18 when I went away to college. Summers I lived with my grandparents to be closer to my job. I always spent Thanksgiving, Christmas etc at my parents in my "old room" that I shared with my sister.
29, My parents didn't want me to leave, but my goal was to be out by 30 which was tough because it was an expensive area to live in, but all went well.
