the one at the top of my list was that the home had to have washer and dryer hookup. I was not going to buy a home and have to go to the laundromat or spend money to make a new water connection and 220 connection for the dryer. I didn't mind if the washer and dryer were in a shed or garage just as long as they were there.
Also it had to have parking, but most homes in south Florida have driveways since there is almost no street parking anywhere.
I'll never buy a house on a busy road. Even though the pets are indoor ones, they can dash out the door and I don't want one to end up in 4-lane traffic. I also don't like houses that are close enough that I can see in my neighbor's windows.
Alley parking
Anything outside the zone I wanted to buy in
Anything with no backyard
Anything without a pool
Anything smacked up against a neighbor
Any one of those houses where the upstairs is just right on top of the downstairs so it's like a big 2 story box
2 car garage
Small 3 car garage
No backyard view (like just fence)
No mature trees
Living area too small for pool table
Location
Quiet street with no thru traffic
Large lot
Mature trees
Two stories
Three or four car garage
Open floor plan
Four bedrooms
Non-cookie cutter neighborhood
Neighbors with well kept homes and yards
Only 1 bathroom
No backyard privacy
Street with yellow line divider (i.e. busy street)
Pickup trucks in most of the neighbors driveways
Less than stellar school district
No indoor plumbing
House beside or near a nuclear plant or sanitation site.
House built on a sinkhole area. ( Yes they are prevalent in my area)
House with old electric coil wiring.
Land in a flood zone
Mold ridden
Zoning rules that are antiquated
Anything involving HOA fees
Not up to building codes.
Open road access...saw a house that required a fee to pay the landowner to pay to use his private road to access main routes. The land was bought ...home built on it...but no way to get to and from without paying the guy who sold that parcel. we didn't buy it...we saw a Hatfield and McCoy discontent brewing on that!
