Looking to buy a 250-300k house in Eagle Springs. With homestead, can someone tell me what the total yearly tax bill will be and at what %?

Depends on what section. In the original section the Mud Tax has gone done a little since it has been there for ten years so your taxes will be higher in the back half of the hood. You can call the information center and they will be able to tell you but you could also go to Hcad and figure it out. FInd a house near by your house and punch it in. Just for example purposes on a home built in 07 valued at $347,000 by Hcad taxes last year would have been just over $11,000. A house built in 07 that was actually purchased for $258,000 and not Hcad value taxes were a little under $9,000. Remember normally Hcad values homes higher than the purchase price so you can always try and fight it the next year. Very easy to do if ya take an afternoon off of work. Anyways, just looked at HAR and a home built in 02 has a tax rate of 3.2 as to where a home built in 08 has a tax rate of 3.46.
Hope that helps.
Happy house hunting and if you do end up in ES you will just love it! It is a great hood! We have been here for most of 9 years!
