Can anyone that has SuddenLink in Kingwood comment on the performance? I'll be moving to Kingwood soon, and I'm curious how their speeds compare to my existing comcast residential connection. If SuddenLink is way slower, it might be worth getting a business-class line.

My realtor lives in Kingwood and uses SuddenLink, so I had her run speedtest.net. Not looking good. Download 10x slower and 10x higher latency versus my comcast

Are there any other options in Kingwood besides SuddenLink? There's no way I'll live somewhere with 3 Mb/s internet.

Centurylink is the other option. Keep in mind that all companies have tiered internet where they throttle you down to what level you pay for so I assume your realtor has the cheapest package. Centurylink has a tier that goes all the way up to 40 Mbs but it is not available in every area (my neighborhood maxes at the 7 Mbps package). I think Suddenlink's standard package comes with 10 Mbps but their cheapest is 1.5 Mbps.

Suddenlink is your only cable internet option. They do have tiered pricing but the pricing options are not published and your tiered pricing options are dependent on the type of modem/router you use. They price by MB/month as well as speed so if you go over your allotted tier, you will be charged additionally per 10 MB. Since they are the only game in town with cable internet, your actual speeds may vary according to your neighbors usage.
Suddenlink is capable of selling you internet speeds that will allow multiple users in your house to simultaneously stream video but expect to pay $$$$ for it and be aware that they will throttle and their tiers all have caps that will cost $$$$ to exceed. If you are prepared to pay for it, Suddenlink will suit your needs.

This is an old thread but I just saw a mailer by Suddenlink that they were increasing the speeds of all their tiers by 5 or 10 MB.
