Not gonna happen. Far too ambitious for Houston. All they will end up doing is widening the freeway to mimic the Katy Freeway.

Do you really think widening the freeway will actually happen? I've been reading posts saying that expansion of the freeway will disturb several neighborhoods.

Somehow they managed to widen the Katy Freeway without disturbing the ultra rich people of West Houston. I think they can manage to widen 45 without disturbing the poor folks in North Houston.

From the pictures, it seems that I-45 doesn't have room to expand without disturbing neighborhoods.

You could say the same about 290 and guess what. They are widening it.

The only person with the power to stop 45 from being widened is Mattress Mac

Although he could have seen this coming and that's why he opened that Uptown location.

I drive on I45 everyday to work..I45 does not need to be fixed (maybe cleaned up a little). One of the problems is we need alternatives. I give this project 20 years all because there is a rail system being planned..you guys know how that goes.
