Killen's is fine enough to make me yearn for it while looking out my office window at one of the best restaurant cities on the continent. It was my last meal as a Texan.

Pappadeaux is so good they didn't even bother to re-open the one at the mouth of Clear Lake after Ike gave it a good scrubbing. All the other seafood joints down there in that cluster opened back up though.

To each his own. I can't insult someone who calls PF Chang's upscale or someone who only considers Mark's upscale. Everyone is in a different income bracket and what is an upscale night out for someone might be casual daily dining for another.

They wont. When does an upscale diner open in the burbs? Where is the volume on a Tuesday night?

Yeah except you'd need to make over $500k/yr w/o children to even consider eat at upscale places like The Oceanaire, Morton's or Masraff's on a regular basis.

I don't eat out much myself since maintaining a sub-28" waist is mandatory for me. But I know there are at least a couple upscale dining options in Sugar Land and then there are tons and tons of casual dining options.

I know I will be heavily criticized by those who lurked everyday on this board and love their precious Pearland. You will most likely find upscale restaurants in expensive neighborhoods. Pearland is not an expensive place. It is affordable and caters to folks who live in the neighborhood. Sugarland has upscales restaurants. There is no way you can find an affordable house in a nice neighborhood in Sugarland as you can in Pearland. Pearland is very country (more southern accents).

There are a few down here. I can count them on one hand, though...
