Going 84 in a 65 MPH zone is dumb, and just asking for a ticket. Most of us know that there is often 5 MPH excess cushion, which sometimes goes up to about 9 MPH over. But 84 is nearly 20 MPH over the speed limit. You're toast. Man up, pay up, wise up.

If they sense you have an attitude, are in denial, and/or might try to fight something, the police will ramp up their attitude too. They have to deal with people with attitudes, excuses, and lame attempts at innocence, day in and day out. The police are doing their job; excessive speeders have to do their job by submitting their payment.

Usually you are eligible for defensive driving if you weren't speeding over a limit. Take the online class on your phone, its the best way to go to bed every night for a month. Some of the comedy ones are not really funny but you can pass the exam easily. Its not worth going the lawyer route.
