Today is the funeral for deputy Goforth. Take a moment to honor this man by remembering what a tragic loss this is for his friends, family and our city. Celebrate other law enforcement today. You hope you never need to call them but if you do, you're happy to have their presence.

Almost 11,000 officers from coast to coast turned out to pay their respects to Darren Goforth yesterday in Houston. His handsome young son was wearing the Captain America shirt his father had just bought for him at Friday's funeral service. Goforth's son had his father stolen from him forever by this evil two-bit violent thug. He will miss out on the happiness and stability of growing up with his father in his life.

It also seems that Goforth had plans on retiring only a month ago, but the police chief talked him into staying on as deputy for one more year. Let's just hope this violent scumbag gets exactly what he deserves - death. Fortunately he's off the streets and locked up for good.

You're right, thanks for that. Officer Goforth had 10-years in with the force, the Chicago officer who was murdered was a 30 year veteran.

It happened pretty close to where I live. My apartment complex provided garage parking for officers.

I dont see them any different from us except living in danger. I see an Officer who is at the school parking lot everyday , I see another officer at the Dollar store and the Officer who works probably in another city coming down every weekend to be with his family.

And each of them smile when you smile.
