Can anyone recommend a good place to go to spend New Years Eve in Houston. I would prefer somewhere Downtown or Midtown.

yes, but actually, i'm kinda kiddin though there is some truth there. if you're willing to spend some $$$, go to parties held at like the hyatt regency downtown. i used to go downtown and hang out at bars a while back. i work downtown and eat at tailgators for lunch sometimes, but don't recall the street name. there seems to be bars around that area where people live in condos/lofts. i haven't been to midtown at night,so sorry, but i've seen some bar called "3rd bar" on my drive into downtown. hope that helps a little.

last time i was downtown it was kinda dead. the parties being held at hotels seem like they are geared towards the 30+ crowd.

it would be fun to go somewhere with live music.

Try Sambuca though i haven't been there in years. Not sure if the State Bar is still around. It used to be next to it.

State Bar is still there but it is generally dead from the few times I have been there. Only time it is packed is after people pass the bar (i.e. the bar to practice law).

Places in Midtown are more crowded generally.

The address for Sambuca is:

Map of 909 Texas St Houston, TX by MapQuest

The one for Christians Tailgaters(just wanted you to check out this area)

2000 Bagby St.

I'm sure there are more people here in this forum that can provide you names of places in midtown and downtown for you to go.
