If we were to put percentage on faults, I think it would be 10 percent to the poor student and 90 percent to the bus driver. Most school bus has a mirror that extend beyond the front bumper of the bus just to prevent such accident. The mirror is actually shaped like a slice of orange where you can see EVVVEERRYYWHHEERRE include someone walking just in front of the bumper. The drive did not check her mirrors before driving off. I drop my kids off at the bus stop every morning and after this accident is where I noticed this mirror.

It's hard to see how a bus driver can hit anyone with such a clear view, IMO.
