A childhood friend of mine and her parents (one a professor at UH) lived a couple blocks from campus. I never knew we were in such danger! I've also ignorantly lived in SE Houston too...who knew!

There have been several shootings around this area this year. People get robbed etc. ( U of H). No idea how old you are, but SE Houston is pretty bad now. It's just become ghetto.

Dangerous? Post Oak and Westheimer.

All those old white ladies driving suburbans while chatting on their bedazzled cell phones heading to tennis practice without a concern for any of the "little people" they might run over along the way is much, much, much scarier than any talk of a few junkies and coked up gang members in Denver Harbor.

Spoken like a kid who's never had a run-in with a real junkie or a coked-up gang member....

When you were younger, did you find a lot of people gliding their down-turned open-palmed hand over their head while simultaneously saying, "woooosh?"

It's a joke. Don't think you know who I am because of one little offhanded joke that may have either gone over your head or just not been very funny in the first place. No one bats a thousand, obviously not you, and by the looks of it, maybe not me either.

I used to live on Fondren and W. Bellfort area in an apartment complex(Greenhouse Patio) which provided alarms and you had to pay your rent with a money order only. It was right near Bob White Blvd. This was back in the mid 90s. You could hear ambulances going off quite a bit at night. I was even mugged in my own apartment complex parking lot. That was a first for me.

People say things similar to your "joke" in all seriousness all the time. It's hard to hear inflection or see facial expressions on an internet forum. That's why I like to use those fancy emoticon thingys if it's not completely obvious that what I'm saying is not to be taken seriously (<<<< like that one, right there).
