That's the type of winter I enjoy. Not foggy, cloudy, rainny, gray, and freezing. If I wanted that, I'd be living in Seattle or London. But I am in Texas and expected something different.

I guess I have no choice but get used to it...

By the way... Why is it that on the same day, Austin is beautiful and blue, and Houston is foggy and gray and ugly?? (I mean the weather, obviously)
Yeah, Florida is further from the reaches of the cold fronts during winter.

Austin is inland, Houston is on the coast. All this rain we get is provided by the gulf moisture. Also, Austin is further west, near the Balcones Escarpment, where the weather suddenly becomes much drier. Nearly all major cities in Texas besides Houston are either on this line, or west of it. A totally different weather pattern over there.

Right.

So what have you made of this weekend?

Texas (even Houston) is generally colder than FL in the winter. FL is one of the warmest states.

Houston has more cloudy days than Austin. Which is great in the winter, but by the summer you will become tired of the sun relentlessly beating down on you day after day in 95+ degree temps (at least I did...)

Without reading all of the posts above me, I would just like to state that I think this weather is awesome, and that Houston should seriously consider keeping this climate year-round. Give me rain, cloudiness, or frosty windows that I have to scrape (like this morning), just not that horrid summer weather. Thanks.
