Paint jobs vary widely in cost and quality. If you want a quick job and you don't really care how perfect it is, you can get one fairly cheap (Isn't there a MAACO around?), but for really good paint jobs you will pay more money, because much more time is involved. Finding a reputable and talented painter is another problem. Make sure you see examples of their work, and not just pictures if you are fussy. Check for overspray, drips, orange peel, dirt in paint...
(I used to have a show car).

Actually, the local MAACO does a good job. They have a variety of types of "Paint Jobs" for a variety of prices. The owner works there, too and is very helpful. They've done quite a bit of work for us (including body and paint work on a newer Acura) on several cars and my husband has been pleased and he's picky about cars. He's referred friends to them and they've been pleased as well.

Not sure if this would help you but it helped me. I had a second car, a 1965 Pontiac Catalina Convertable. I took it to a junior college body and paint class to use as a project. One semester they did all the body and the next semester they painted the whole car. So, it took a long time but all I paid for was the materials, or probably about a quarter of the price I'd pay on the street.

One kid did a door, another kid does a quarter panel, another the hood, etc. And they welded too, not just bondo.

Worked out great. So see if you can find a trade school or something like that. Of course you have to give up the car a long time but if it is a second car it is no big deal.

I don't know about MAACO, but for the other top quality paint shops it would be in the ballpark of $5k for a repaint. The shop I went with admitted this isn't always cost effective unless it's for a classic/ show car or a car with lots of miles left under the hood.

MAACO paints your same car for $199

Obviously different qualify of paint job. Back west, there's Earl Scheib that will paint any car for $99.95 !

I wonder if they can match paint for my Sequoia? I've scraped far too many trees and mailboxes on my rear bumper. No body damage, just scrapes.
Think it's worth taking to MAACO?

MAACO has tons of paints. I know they have Toyota and Lexus colors as we've looked at them before.
