Last 4 hours... cool to see the hunters flying into it and where from. The data you are seeing is coming from right there...

I noticed the CMC and the GFS both have Matthew hitting Maine/Nova Scotia as a strong hurricane. That would be fun to see. That area's sparsely populated, so I imagine damage would be minimal. Of course, it's over a week away, so anything could happen between now and then.

Good catch on the no rain. Yeah must of been the eye.

Check this out and what the Euro does. WTF? The trough coming across US is faster and so it doesnt kick the storm out. So it cripples the Bahamas.

Todays update reminds us....its not over yet!

Varies. Would have to see that particular parameter for that run. Pressure and winds dont always correlate.

They used to use pressure to Categorize hurricanes, now its wind speed. Pressure more used to indicate strengthening & weakening.

But Obviously a 930mb wouldnt be a Cat 1. Lol so theres some correlation.

Which model is showing 930?

Looks like middle of a Cat4 maybe (depending on other factors though):https://www.unc.edu/~rowlett/units/scales/saffir.html

Here's the Euro12z wind gust for next Friday. Basically 90+ Thursday, Friday and Saturday for the Bahamas. Crazy.

Wind speed is always deceiving on models since the highest is usually a small area

Eastern Jamaica is looking more like it's in the cross hairs and their largest city, Kingston, happens to lie on the east side of the island. A direct strike of a major hurricane on Kingston would be devastating for them.
