All the big three trucks are pretty nice. A buddy has a F-150 with eco-boost and it hauls. Another one with HD2500, also nice.
A buddy just bought a 2016. It's really an impressive truck, even though it's too big for me.
One of the best vehicles I ever owned was a Dodge work van. It's one of very few I ever regretted trading in, and as soon as I did, I knew I made a big mistake.
Even after 11 very hard years on it, that Dodge never failed to get me back home, and it didn't owe me a nickel when I traded it.

But my buddy's new truck is a lot better than that van in everything. So is my bro's 2012 Jimmy.

Americans are back in the truck biz for real these days. All of them are good. I just wish it wasn't so hard to find one with a dark green paint job. (my fave color for a truck).

No, the Outback is a wagon. See my post over in the Montana forum. The top Subaru SUV is the Forester.

In Idaho, the Subaru Outback sells at 275 percent of the national average.

He is or would be retired.

I recall mistyriver and some other north Idaho posters share an interest in certain muscle cars. You could search for corvette here or perhaps one of them will chime in. If you are into social activities around cars, the area has a fair about or shows, rides and probably clubs.

It's very difficult to go from these to an SUV.

I just want to be able to drive mine around without worry of getting it damaged by roads or weather, hail etc.

Garage it, be selective about roads and speeds and days out. Like many others there, a good amount from California.

That's what I do now with my cars. They are garaged. Mustang is over 28 years old and I am the original owner who ordered it back in 1987. Same goes for Corvette.
The only thing is that the roads here in CA are so bad full of potholes and not maintained that it ruins your cars.
