I live in Cd'A, and of all the parts of Idaho I have been to this is my favorite. SE Idaho is way to mormon for me to even consider living there. Boise is really really pleasant though. If I could replace Spokane with Boise up here, I would do so in a heartbeat.
As far as scenery goes, all of Idaho is beautiful. Certain towns, however, are not.

Why 10 years? What do you foresee Boise being that it isn't already, or that is actually something to be desired?

My wife and I just spent the last week in north Idaho. It is absolutely gorgeous up there. Drove all around the area north of Sandpoint, to Bonners Ferry, and to the west to Priest River. I can honestly say, I am depressed to be back in Southern Ca.
Looked at a 10 acre lot that was beautiful in Moyie Springs. Have to figure out the finances to see what we can afford. Only problem up in the Bonners Ferry area is work. We will have to make sure we are debt free, when we finally move.
I will post a seperate thread with pictures, and my observations when I get a chance.
I will say that driving back through Western MT (Bitterroot Valley), I cured myself of the possibility of living there. However, when crossing back into ID, and going through Salmon, we found Salmon ID to be awesome also....again, what do you do for work??
I need an internet business

Hopefully the remote towns like Salmon keep major business out of the region, so they can keep it small and beautiful like it currently is now.
And that's better for all of us to enjoy anyway, instead of becoming another elite gated enclave playground for the rich.

Okay, my favorite... all of North Idaho is beautiful. Can't say I'm a huge CDA fan- but it's an okay city. Kind of flat and dry. I think my fave is Hope, east of Sandpoint. Can't beat "Beyond Hope" for an excellent city name, right? Hope just gets me because it looks just like Juneau out there! Plus, Ice House Pizza is so good, and Sandpoint is always so much fun in the summer, with all the festivals and such.
My least favorite? I dunno. Probably Lewiston- it always smells so bad because of that paper mill! Other than that, probably anywhere south. It just gets so arid... I can't handle that. Boise's an okay city, but too big. Interestingly enough, every time I think of Boise I think of the Coca Cabana Inn. Might need to speak with a professional about that, eh?

I agree with you Anchorless. It would be a shame to see places like Salmon destroyed because of "Big Business". But then again, being remote like it is will only allow the rich to move in there anyway.
I guess to live there a person needs to be self employed in town, or have some type of internet business.

If you take a gander at this page http://www.city-data.com/business/ec...mon-Idaho.html It will give you a rough idea on how folks are employed there.

You're welcome I did that based on my own curiosity as we often have folks moving here to IF for work and they come from Salmon.

Wow, girl. I'm surprised about Moscow. I always thought it was just a college town isolated from everything else. I also heard Lewiston was a nice place to live. Tell me more why you think that.
