My "vote" is to let him stay! He put saving that little girl before keeping his illegal identity a secret and risked destroying his own life, to save the life of an innocent child.

Yeah, some arbitrary rules about who was born on what side of an imaginary line are obviously more important than doing the right thing when it comes to judging people.

By being here he is already breaking the law.
Interesting. Perhaps we should strip citizenship from speeders, jaywalkers, etc. After all, they're showing their disdain for our society since they break our laws.

There's rules and regualtion for getting into this country and you want to allow them to do it illegally? Even the path to legal immigration is letting in far too many people.
Who put you in charge of determining how many is the "right" number to let in?

BTW: there is no "path to legal immigration" for people who don't already have family here or who are rich and white.

If it happened, it has the air of a manufactured story - and what was the status of the supposed kidnapper?

  • I agree with the Obama Administration in reviewing each case. Criminals need to be deported and new illegals should also be deported. However, law abiding people who have been living and working here for awhile should be given a path to citizenship.
  • This issue deals 100% with real people, so using a giant axe isn't right and I don't see how any of you right wing Christians can look at yourself in the mirror and think God is happy with you if you think otherwise.

One heroic effort does not represent the majority. If someone has been in this country illegally for 4 years and working at the very least they are either doing so by using stolen or fake documents (a felony) or working under the table (tax evasion). They are doing a job that an American needs and is entitled to (theft).

I don't know how a pro-illegal can look themselves in the mirror while demonizing their fellow Americans for expecting our immigration laws to be respected and enforced. Americans are real people also and they have had to suffer the brunt of this invasion that has negatively impacted their lives and their families lives. As for Christianity, we are a Christian nation and it isn't only right wingers that are Christians. Illegals are breaking more than one commandment along with our laws so don't take the moral highground here. Come legally or don't come at all. No one should be rewarded for violating our immigration laws no matter how long they have been here.

Well there you have it folks. First, this statement if false. I could post hundreds of heroic acts by Americans. Does 9/11 ring a bell just for starters? When one makes ridiculous statements such as this they have no credibility at all.

Funny, Mr Diaz was going through the process, he chose to quit it because, according to him, the process took too much time and was too expensive.

So that must mean there is a "path" or "line" for them to get into, they simply choose to step out of it (line or path) because they don't want to pay for something they can take for free.

lol I know, imagine the very concept of the process being too long and expensive. What a ridiculous notion, right? Clearly he's just lazy.

Yes, and also entitlement-minded. Others do it, but he’s special, he shouldn’t have to play by the rules. He can just wait for the right opportunity to announce his illegal status, and voila!

Apparently he doesn't want to be an American.. Because the process to become one is just not worth the hassle in his eyes.

Saving someone's life does not excuse the fact that he is here illegally.

Or, like, it actually IS too long and expensive of a process. But here you have decided that this dude, a hero by any standard FWIW, is lazy and looooves his sense of entitlement.
