Wow, that would be nice. Too bad Arizona cannot Amend the constitution , that is what it will take to rectify the "anchor baby" issue.

I don't think old Evan Mecham was as embarrassing to the state of Arizona as this legislature and governor is.

Just because they sited The Constitution as the definitive guideline for the birthright issue, does not necessarily mean that they are in support of anchor babies.

How about Arizona citizenship and residency?
What say does the state have in that?

Then it is time we amend the Constitution to make the 14th Amendment reflect the realities we face today with the anchor baby problem. 2/3 of the state leglislatures can trigger a Constitutional convention - perhaps the Arizona leglislature can start the ball rolling.

Immigration fight: Bill to end 'birthright citizenship' advances in Arizona - CSMonitor.com

A Senate panel on Tuesday gave a nod to a set of bills that deny 'birthright citizenship' to children born to illegal immigrants in Arizona. Other measures to continue the state's illegal immigration crackdown are also moving ahead.

Feb. 23, 2012 -- Tucson, Ariz.

Arizona lawmakers aren't finished yet in their push to make life more difficult for people living in the state illegally. Less than a year after passing a tough immigration law that prompted protests, boycotts, and a federal lawsuit, they are advancing an array of new measures to crack down even harder on illegal immigration – with some of the proposals just as likely to attract legal and civic resistance.

In a challenge to US Constitution’s 14th Amendment, a Senate panel in the Republican-controlled state legislature late Tuesday gave the green light to two companion bills that would deny automatic US citizenship, sometimes called "birthright citizenship," to children born to illegal immigrants.
Clue to the Clueless:
States do not set immigration laws for the Nation or even their own State, nor do they give US citizenship. I seriously think AZ needs to change the name of the State to Crackpot Corner, they can use a tinfoil hat as their new logo on the State flag.

The federal government refuses to enforce its own laws and Arizona pays the price for their inaction. Arizona is the site of an invasion. Washington refuses to do their job - it is then Arizona's perogative to defend herself.

Do you disagree with the immigration laws on the books? If this is the case your efforts should be on repealing those laws instead of trashing the state of Arizona.

How long do you think it will be before the Federal Courts quash that? I give it about one hour!
