Fifty-five percent of the 12.7 million Mexican immigrants living in the U.S. are illegal, according to a 2009 report from the Pew Research Center. The nonprofit also reported Mexicans make up roughly 60 percent of the estimated 11.9 million illegal immigrants in the U.S.
Legalize all immigrants, former Mexican official says | Amarillo Globe-News

Well at least they finally clarified where that 12 million illegal aliens number they have been spouting for more than a decade comes from. Now all they need to do is figure out where the other 30 million illegals living in this country hail from . . ..

Mexican politicians are famous for telling us how great these illegals are, how hard working they are, how little pay they require, how great it is for our economy to have many millions of these dirt paid illiterates --- but never ever ever send them back home.

Mexico obviously does not believe these people are all that great because it does not want them ever coming back.

Jorge Castaneda also said this

Quote:
He cites public opinion polls to demonstrate that, for all the cross-border chatter about U.S. discrimination against Mexican immigrants, Mexicans themselves — despite their characteristic warmth and hospitality toward individual strangers — are collectively far more xenophobic toward immigrants than their U.S. counterparts and have largely opposed granting admittance or basic rights to foreign workers.

I wonder how receptive the Mexican politicians would be to people dumping into their country. What if our economic plan was to rid ourself of the 20% most impoverished, least educated, most helpless of our citizens? Imagine if we could send our entire welfare population to Mexico? Then we could demand they be made citizens of Mexico...... yes, sounds like a plan.

Exactly. If they are so wonderfully resourceful, why does Calderon whine and complain about the deportations when these hardworking, resourceful workers return home?

The bill also cracks down on undocumented immigrants in Mexico, allowing federal police to check immigration documents of people they encounter during their work, and imposing fines on employers who hire people who are illegally there. (That is called racial profiling here in the Good old United States Friends)

Same as Vicente Fox -- he would insist they were so wonderful for an economy but he never explained why he wanted to be permanently rid of them.

And if they don't agree to this could we call them xenophobic?
