BISBEE — Richard Hodges was driving his Jeep along International Road after 8 p.m. one night this past summer when he noticed an opening in the barbed wire fence along one side of his property.
He owns 372 acres near Bisbee Junction. The edge of his land is located on the border with Mexico. Fearing his cows might escape and cross the border, he stopped to close the hole in the fence.
He parked his vehicle so the headlights were shining on the fence. As he was mending the section of barbed wire, he was struck in the chest by a rock. He turned to step out of the way of the lights and he felt another rock whiz by his head.

If they are on his property he should shoot back at them.
I can't disagree with that.
If it were me on my property and someone was throwing rocks at me, I would shoot back. I might squeeze off a round into the ground first as a warning shot.
A couple of border patrol agents that thought their lives were in danger are sitting in federal prison for the next decade because they shot an illegal alien in the butt that was transporting drugs.
You have to be very careful when your own government has sold you out and is now siding with documented violent criminals.
If someone threw a rock at me on my own property, I'd shoot them. No question. You can use deadly force to defend your property in Texas and you do not have to attempt to escape first.

We've got a 12 gauge under the bed.
Dallas I have a 45 acp in the night stand and 24 years karate in case i forget that the safety is on. LOL
My property and someone is attacking me with rocks or any other weapon? Open season.

I've gotten some hand-to-hand tips (mostly self-defense) from my USMC boyfriend, and I took a handgun class. I practice with the 12 gauge (it's not loaded)...taking off the safety and racking it. Hopefully just that noise will be enough to deter people.

Didn't watch; every time I've watched one of my teams this year (UT and Cowboys), they've lost...so I'm trying not to jinx them. I just read about the games later.
I feel so sorry for the property owners near the border. They must be so frustrated having to deal with this invasion on their property day in and day out.
