we have just as many legal Hispanics vs illegal. IMHO the 11 million number is way off and has been used for 5-7 years, I think it is closer to 20-30 million.

So our politicians are going to reward a population where half are law breakers, isn't that special~

"More than 11 million Latino voters cast ballots in 2012, and that number is expected to increase to more than 12.5 million in 2016, according to Latino Decisions. In both 2008 and 2012, Obama’s strength with this demographic helped him carry crucial swing states owned by President Bush in 2004: New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, Florida, and Virginia"

the 11 million is complete garbage. the media and federal government is always trying to downgrade illegal immigration to make you think its not a big deal when it clearly is

We've been at 11 million for over a decade now.

Probably right, we have 25-30 million illegals and 11 million did things right or by anchor babies.

They also say we can't deport them because they don't know where they are but they magically know they have 11 million

We could solve the problem by just saying "dont let us catch you here working if you are a legal citizen" Sure we would have to prove we mean business . After a few public whippings they would run back to medico like a bunch of stampeded goats

Anchor babies I would imagine. They rush over the border, squat & start popping children. The more babies, the bigger the check. It's enough to make you want to puke.

8% of births in this country are now to illegals --- there are far more than 11 million illegals living here.

Some estimate that 2/3 of illegals are males, so the fact that their 1/3 females are 8% of who is in the maternity units can help you get to a more reliable number of just how many illegals are here.

One reason the open borders crowd is putting out articles about produce rotting in the fields is that once the anchor baby is born, the illegal no longer has to work or work much at all and they need constant new supplies of them.

More correctly, at least one of the parents is an illegal alien (the same source, the Pew Hispanic Center, has also attributed that the other parent has a higher likelihood of being a U.S. citizen or Legal Permanent Resident). It is also 2008 data. Analyzing that information in its true light is much more helpful:

Quote:
About 340,000 of the 4.3 million babies born in the United States in 2008 — or 8 percent — had at least one parent who was an illegal immigrant, according to a study published Wednesday by the Pew Hispanic Center, a nonpartisan research group in Washington.

Source? I had always heard the percentages were closer. Speculation, especially considering your reputation of past wild claims, is just misleading. Here is the original report from Pew Hispanic: Unauthorized Immigrants and Their U.S.-Born Children | Pew Hispanic Center

Contrasted with other responses like this, it becomes amusing to consider that the "foreign-born" (legal and illegal immigration) produces 23% of the children under the age of 18:

Pew Hispanic identifies that more than half of illegal immigrant mothers have been in the United States longer than five years. Responses are cherry-picking data without showing the bigger picture, and giving misleading speculations. You know what is said about opinions, but it seems not very many want to provide a reliable source to back up their assumptions.
