This is more proof the illegal immigration issue is in fact escalating.

For North Carolina's Hispanic leaders, the biggest hazards of the job were once long hours. Now, they include death threats.

Threats of violence are becoming common enough that Bazán, president of the philanthropic Triangle Community Foundation, has requested protection at some public appearances. Asion, director of the Raleigh Hispanic advocacy group El Pueblo and a former police officer, said he has received two handwritten death threats at his office since May.

"This is not about immigration," Bazán said. "This is not about debating policy. This has moved on to another sphere. This is hate."

History repeating itself. I have a feeling our "leaders" knew it would.

Of course they did. Sadly, they are only concerned with profit.....by any means.

However, other anti-illegal immigration activists say the movement has developed an ugly side.
"Something has gotten distorted, and it's creating a lot of hate," said Jim Gilchrist, the Southern California founder of the Minuteman Project, which organizes citizen patrols of the Mexican border. Gilchrist said there are extremists on both sides of the issue and that he has received threatening messages from people on the pro-immigrant side of the debate. But lately, he said, he gets more hate mail from people on his side of the issue. He said groups are now fighting among themselves, and some have adopted messages that he considers racist.

This is just proof of the seeds of hate the anti-immgrant crowd is sowing.

Jim Gilchrist is a self-promoting buffoon who never met a TV camera he didn't like. I'm still on his mailing list and get his 'pleas for funds' on a regular basis. He's a ******* that stole so much $$$ from the MM that his Board of Directors sued him and WON.

How true! He is on every anti-illegal immigration "ignore" list.

Again, you can thank so-called "immigrant" advocates such as Janet Murguia for linking "legal" with "illegal."

No, that would be the "lump all the hispanics together so our numbers appear larger" LaRaza based profiteers.

The anti ILLEGAL ALIEN crowd are victims of this invasion, don't get it twisted.

Okay -- for all you open borders advocates, those who believe no limits whatsover should be placed on illegal immigration:

Do you honestly believe that you can promote the replacement of the American people, have unemployment, especially youth unemployment rise and never see any consequences? That the American taxpayer can take unlimited tax increases, that entire neighborhoods are taken over by foreign people who tell the natives that this is their land now and that they'd better learn their foreign language and all Americans will just smile and comply?

I don't think you guys are realistic. You seem to have fallen for that believe that the USA can be made into some immigrant utopia, where all the impoverished people of the entire world can come and live happily ever ever, Americans will just step out of their jobs and turn them over, Americans will live looking for their food in dumpsters so that illegals can have a great life here.

Do you open borders advocates truly believe that giving the corporations unlimited cheap labor, with taxpayers making up the gap between wages and living costs would have no consequence at all? That monthly remittances being sent out of the country could grow indefinitely, to any level and there would be no consequence to local economies?
