For the same reason Mexicans come to the US hoping for a better standard of living (or at least a job that pays a livable wage) - many Guatemalans sneak into Mexico!! How bad must Guatemala be?

Anyone been there?
And the irony is that Guatemala was also once part of Mexico after 1821.
Word has it the former country flat 'sucks', to be polite.
Yes and honestly, Mexico is doing US a favor in enforcing their Southern Border (Actually the US partially funds its enforcement). If the southern border were wide open, the US would have a lot more illegals coming from Guatemala and El Salvador.

Yes, wouldn't that interfere with the illegals coming from Mexico and their ploy at undercutting US wages? After all, Guatemalans are even more desperate and hungry than your average Mexican, so when a Mexican illegal is willing to take $4/hour, the Guatemalan may be willing to take $2/hour - looks like Mexico has a very good reason to stem the flow of illegals other than the Mexicans into the US. As if they are doing it to protect US....ha!

US funds that south border with Guatemala in the hundreds of millions (1.4 Bill), I am not defending the Mexican government all I am saying is you would see a much larger # of illegals here if that were not the case.

US gives 1.4 Billion to the Southern Mexican Border, "The Merida Initiative.” Right Truth: Your money goes to Mexico's southern border
And if Mexico was as rigid about protecting their NORTHERN border, this forum would not have much to talk about.

The point I am making, is their rigidness on the Southern Border is backed by the United States...maybe the United States needs to fund that Northern Border? I tend to think the US and Mexican government are in cahoots on our border.

Every time we try we get screams of RACISM from those who are in favor of illegal immigration.
